Meeting of the Asian Association

On August 26, 2020, chaired by the Chairman of the Constitutional Council of Kazakhstan K. Mami, an online meeting of the Association of Asian Constitutional Courts and Equivalent Institutions was held. It was held on the eve of the IV Congress of the Association, which is scheduled for August 27 and will be held under the chairmanship of the Constitutional Council in this organization. Opening the event, Chairman of the Association K. Mami congratulated colleagues on the 10th anniversary of the Asian structure. Over the years, it has emerged as an authoritative regional organization, uniting the efforts of its members in the protection of human rights, democracy and the rule of law. All these achievements became possible thanks to our friendship and constructive interaction, the speaker said. The members of the Association decided to amend its Charter, providing for the procedure for conducting protocol events using digital technologies. The organization included the Supreme Court of Bangladesh, which became its nineteenth member. A separate session was devoted to the issues of the Association's participation in the upcoming 5th Congress of the World Conference on Constitutional Justice. The delegations decided to nominate speakers and hold a meeting of the Association within the framework of the world congress. The priority area of activity is the development of cooperation with the Venice Commission of the Council of Europe and other associations specializing in constitutional and legal issues. For this purpose, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed on the air with the Eurasian Association of Constitutional Control Bodies. The parties heard information on the activities of the structural divisions of the Association: th All members of the Association expressed support to the Constitutional Council of Kazakhstan in holding an international conference on the topic "Constitution of the XXI century - the rule of law, human value and efficiency of the state" dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In their opinion, modern challenges, including those related to the coronavirus pandemic, have actualized the need for a deep understanding of the legal framework in terms of finding answers to many painful problems e Secretariat for Planning and Coordination (Indonesia), the Secretariat for Research and Development (Korea) and the Center for Training and Human Resource Development (Turkey). All members of the Association expressed support to the Constitutional Council of Kazakhstan in holding an international conference on the topic "Constitution of the XXI century - the rule of law, human value and efficiency of the state" dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In their opinion, modern challenges, including those related to the coronavirus pandemic, have actualized the need for a deep understanding of the legal framework in terms of finding answers to many painful problems. The meeting was attended by delegations of constitutional justice bodies of Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, India, Indonesia, Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, Maldives, Myanmar, Mongolia, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, Thailand, Turkey and Uzbekistan. The Secretary General of the World Conference on Constitutional Justice, Mr. Schnuts Duerr, attended as a guest.
