Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the Secretariat for Research and Development of the Association of Asian Constitutional Courts and Equivalent Institutions (AACC) held a 2nd Research Conference. The online conference took place on Thursday, September 24, 2020 under the theme “Freedom of Expression: Experience of AACC Members.” Twenty-eight researchers from constitutional courts and equivalent institutions in Indonesia, Azerbaijan, South Korea, Maldives, Afghanistan, Malaysia, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Thailand, Myanmar, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Russia, the Philippines, and India participated in the conference.
On the second day of the conference, Muhammad Zia Farahmand from the Constitutional Court of Afghanistan, Kamran Jafarov from the Constitutional Court of Azerbaijan Republic, Choi Yong-Beom from the Constitutional Court of Korea, and Raul Villanueva from the Supreme Court of the Philippines presented their papers. The 3-day international online conference was organized by the Republic of Korea and took place on September 23-25, 2020. It reflected the AACC members’ commitment to improve research on constitutional law. Every member sent two delegates to present their papers and discuss topics that had been determined in each panel.
