Ankara, Turkey – The 12th Summer School, organized by the Constitutional Court of Turkiye as its capacity as the Center for Training and Human Resources Development (CTHRD) of the Association of Asian Constitutional Courts and Equivalent Institutions (AACC). The event occurred from September 30th to October 3rd, 2024, in Ankara, Turkiye. This year’s program centered on the theme “The Use of Information Technologies and Artificial Intelligence in the Higher Judiciary.” Participants engaged in dynamic sessions, sharing their experiences and insights on integrating AI and information technology into judicial practices.
The event brought together representatives from Constitutional Courts and similar institutions from 28 countries. These nations participated in the discussions on the latest developments and challenges in implementing information technology and AI in their judicial systems.
AACC member countries such as Turkiye, Korea, Indonesia, Azerbaijan, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, Maldives, Mongolia, Russia, Tajikistan, Thailand, and Uzbekistan, as well as other countries from different parts of the world like Georgia, Ukraine, Algeria, and Zimbabwe, participated in this year's Summer School. Each representative shared innovations related to implementing technology in their country's judicial institutions.
In his opening speech at the 12th Summer School, Vice President of the Constitutional Court of Turkiye, Basri BAGCI, emphasized the importance of implementing AI to create a more modern and efficient judicial system. According to BAGCI, AI can also help broaden public access to justice, expedite legal processes, and ensure transparency in decision-making. The success of this Summer School exemplifies the AACC’s commitment to driving progress through knowledge sharing and international cooperation.
